Viewed in August 2014. The 19th century brick building on the corner of Shenton Lane and Market Place was put on the market in December 2013. Senior police officers had assured people that the sale of the building would not affect the service to the community or the number of police officers operating in the area. A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said that much of the building wasn't being used because it was too big for modern policing purposes, so it made financial sense to move everyone into one room and sell off the rest of the building.
