The metal plate, dated October 1907, is fixed to the side of this http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2726119 footbridge across the River Taff in Taffs Well. Persons are warned against driving vehicles over this bridge. It is not very conspicuous, partly because of its colouring and partly because it is facing across the width of the bridge rather than facing a user of the bridge. It is of historical interest. The older spelling 'Dinas Powis' is used (today it is Dinas Powys). Llandaff and Dinas Powis Rural District Council (RDC) held its first meeting in December 1894. It was renamed Cardiff Rural District Council in 1922 when several parts of Cardiff Borough were transferred to the RDC. Cardiff RDC ceased to exist in 1974 under the terms of the Local Government Act 1972. Its authority passed to the newly-established Cardiff City Council, and Vale of Glamorgan Borough Council.
