For a small village, Barns Green has an amazing number of sports teams including football, tennis and the local Sussex sport, Stoolball, which is a game similar to cricket played with an oval hand bat. On a summer Sunday the village receives many visitors who come to watch cricket in such pleasant surroundings. In the seventies, there used to be an annual 'six-a-side' competition which attracted clubs from miles around. What better way to spend your summer weekends as a child. Happy days!
