Smith's Classic Coach, Moorsbus service, Kirkbymoorside
Every Sunday in high summer this beautifully preserved 1947 Leyland Tiger PS1 joins the Moorsbus fleet for passenger carrying service in Ryedale and the North Yorkshire Moors area. It is seen here calling at Kirkbymoorside, outside Waind's High Class Butchers, to pick up. During the day it will have been driven up Sutton Bank, done a few circuits in the Helmsley area, and travelled twice out to Kirkbymoorside, Surprise View at Gillamoor, and Hutton-le-Hole. An all day Moorsbus pass is £4, or free if you have a National Bus Pass! For more details of this superb restoration, see: http://www.johnsmithandsons.net/30620/info.php?p=5&pno=0

Howe End, Kirkbymoorside
Howe End (the old main road from Pickering) enters Kirkbymoorside near the market Place at this junction with Piercy End. Bookshop on the left, electrical shop on the right. Once all traffic from Thirsk to Scarborough would have taken this narrow street.
