Former Half Moon PH
The twin villages of Brafferton Helperby had until recently 4 public houses, the Half Moon near the southern end of Helperby main street being one of them. This, and the Farmer's Arms at the Brafferton end have both closed, the Half Moon being converted for domestic use. The recently refurbished and enlarged Oak Tree, and the Golden Lion remain in business.

Golden Lion Pub, Helperby
With four pubs in Brafferton/Helperby this could be the place for a night out!
December 2009 update ...... obviously not enough people came to the village for a night out, as the Golden Lion is the only pub still surviving - all others having closed down.
