Sign for the Bay Horse, Market Weighton
Bay is a reference to the colour of the horse. Bay varies considerably in shade from dull red approaching brown, to a yellowing colour approaching chestnut, but can be distinguished from the chestnut by the fact that the bay has a black mane and tail and almost invariably has black on the limbs.

The house where William Bradley lived
In Market Weighton. Known as "The Yorkshire Giant", William Bradley (1787-1820) was the town's most famous son. Vertically he measured 7 feet 9 inches. "Bradley House" was designed specifically for him with tall ceilings and interior doors.

The Market Weighton Giant
A plaque at Market Place in Market Weighton to commemorate the tallest Englishman. As the town's most famous son Giant Bradley Day is celebrated every year.

The Giant Bradley Heritage Trail
The heritage trail which was the creation of the Market Weighton Civic Society consists of 23 granite footprints around the town, to the exact size of Giant Bradley's shoe size, a staggering 15 inches.

The Corn Dolly Man
The weathervane above the Council House, Market Weighton. The weathervane was erected as a memorial to the late Neil Thwaites, known locally as 'The Corn Dolly Man', and shows Neil giving a corn dolly harvest mouse to a young child. http://www.wicstun.com/corndolly/

Giant Bradley's Birthplace
William Bradley, the Yorkshire Giant, was born at Market Weighton in the East Riding of Yorkshire on the 10th February 1787. He was the fourth son of a family of thirteen, who were all of normal build. At the age of 20 he was an amazing seven feet and nine inches tall, and weighed 27 stones. He died on the 30th May 1820.
