Antibody Test for Coronavirus (COVID-19)
A COVID 19 in home antibody testing research study by the Imperial College London and Ipsos MORI took place in late June 2020. People were chosen at random to take part. Looking at my result it shows that I was negative for antibodies. Before you do the test the line at C is blue, the test is only successful if C turns Red. If C, G and M had had red lines I would have been IgG positive and if C and M were red I would have been IgM positive. The testing device is only 72 x 20 x 5mm and the test itself was very easy to do. The test looks for two types of antibodies, IgM (M line) which don't stay in the body very long, and IgG (G line) which are usually longer lasting. I took this photograph in the Station Carpark, Pocklington to show one of my fellow walkers before setting out on a day's walking. After testing the full kit is to be placed back into the case (bag) it came in and disposed in your regular household waste.
