Green Lane, Garton-on-the-Wolds
Garton Balk as it approaches the A166; signs at the junction (reverse of which just about discernible on the right) warn that motor vehicles are prohibited during the winter months, when it is presumably an impassable mire anyway. Even when dried out, the deep ruts must make it inaccessible to all but the most rugged 4x4.

Old Milestone by the A166, Sykes Lane, Garton Parish
Stone post (plate lost) by the A166, in parish of GARTON (EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE District), between Elmswell junction and green lane cross roads, on grass verge, on North side of road. Driffield plate, erected by an unknown authority in the 19th century.
Inscription reads:- : (York / 26 / Driffield / 2) :
Carved benchmark on top front.
