Weathered bench mark on Whitby station
This bench mark is on the north west corner of the old station building, and it was first recorded on the 1893 Town Plans levelled at 19.69 feet. It was last recorded on the 1928 O.S. map, and is not on the modern O.S. database. A mark with the same grid reference is on the south west face 5.5 metres away.

Whitby Bus Station
Buses to and from Whitby operate from this small bus station close to the railway station. Most services are operated by Arriva, the successor to the long-established United Automobile Services whose vehicles were at one time ubiquitous from North Yorkshire up to the Scottish border. The ruin of Whitby Abbey can be seen overlooking the town.
