Whitby roofscape
Jumble of roofs clustered on the valley sides at Whitby. Taken from near the top of Caedmon's Trod, looking west. The buildings in the foreground are in NZ9011. Those on the hillside opposite are in NZ8910 and NZ8911. The River Esk is hidden from view and flows in front of the building with the mock-tudor facade- The Jolly Sailors Inn.

Church of St. Ninian, Baxtergate
This grade II* listed Catholic Church is dated 1776-1778. The brick front is part of the street line in Baxtergate. An unusual example of an C18 church with Gothic detail to windows and a classical doorway, and the front integrated with the street. Chancel & apse added c.1890. Historical Note: The oak posts supporting the gallery were supplied by a Whitby mast maker, Isaac Allanson. LBS No: 326547

K6 Telephone Kiosk, Baxtergate
This grade II listed telephone kiosk, type K6, was designed in 1935 by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. Made by various contractors in cast iron. Comprising a square kiosk with a domed roof. Unperforated crowns to top panels and margin glazing to windows and door. LBS 438013
