View from the Central tower of York Minster
Right of the mid picture is Cliffords Tower, centre is the Castle Museum, which was formerly the Gaol (Jail). Behind this you can see the Redfern National Glassworks Factory (now demolished) and the associated smoke pollution from the glass furnaces.

Church of St Denys, south doorway
The church was essentially entirely rebuilt in the 14th and 15th centuries, but this mid-12th century Norman doorway was reset when this was done. Listed Grade I.

Church of St Denys, west end
The west end represents a rebuilding of the 14th/15th century church in 1846-7. How far the tracery follows original patterns is unclear. Listed Grade I.

Church of St Denys, east end
Central nave and south aisle are 15th century, Perpendicular panel tracery in the windows; the north aisle has a fine 14th century example of curvilinear tracery. The clock is in an unusual position. Listed Grade I.
