Pickering Castle [11]
Diate Hill Tower, one of three square projecting towers on the outer curtain wall built 1324-26. Pickering Castle is an 11th century motte and bailey castle which became a shell keep castle in the 13th century. A Royal castle for much of its life, it has been in state care since 1926.
