'The Railway King' pub, York

Opened in 1852 as the "Great Northern Hotel". The two top floors were removed in 1965 and it reopened as "The Pageant" in 1966, then reverted to the "Great Northern" in 1984, then "Merlins" by 1994, then "Nexus", then "Club Salvation" c.2008

Rathmell Hall
Looking down Tanner Row to Rathmell Hall on George Hudson Street, built in 1897 as the York Equitable Industrial Society Co-operative central premises and warehouse. it was converted into offices in the 1990s, used by City of York Council, before being further converted into student accommodation in 2016.
