Old milepost
The thatched cottage almost opposite the milepost in Snainton is just out of shot to the left of the brick house. It will be another 2 miles west along the A170 before the next NRYCC milepost is seen.

Old milepost
Three miles have been travelled westwards along the A170 since seeing the previous NRYCC milepost, SCARBORO 6. This one is in Snainton almost opposite a thatched cottage. This is another post close to a wall so impossible to look inside the back but it is of the style cast at the foundry of F Mattison & Co. Bedale in the late 19thC early 20th. The foundry was actually in Leeming Bar.
