Stylish window on Scarborough Town Hall
This beautiful feature window is on the south east face of the Town Hall and faces the south bay. In 2012 the council debated whether to leave the historic building and move to a purpose built site, but in July this proposal was rejected.

Town Hall from the beach
What is now the Town Hall started life as a large house designed by Henry Wyatt in 1852 but when acquired to become the Town Hall it was massively extended in 1901. The section with large oriel window and turrets nearest the camera dates from then. The gardens in front running down to the Foreshore were private gardens for the house which were acquired at the same time and opened as public gardens. These gardens were refurbished about 10 years ago.

Pivot bench mark on the Town Hall garden wall
This Ordnance Survey pivot bench mark is on the Town Hall garden wall close to a former bench inset in the wall. The official O.S. database records that it is a rivet bench mark, but there is no sign of a rivet, just a hollow/pivot. See also Image
