Low Mount: inside the old reservoir
One of the last projects I worked on in the water industry in 1998/9 was the replacement of two small covered reservoirs on Oliver's Mount with one large one on this site (called Low Mount). This shows the inside of the old, circular, reservoir showing the unusual curved invert (bottom) of the brick structure. For context see the external view Image

Site of former gasworks off Seamer Road
This is Old Gasworks Lane beyond the railway bridge. The compound to the right is the site of the town gas works opened in 1875 and demolished in 1970 after natural gas had taken over. The retort houses were close to here. The brickwork behind the bush on the left is the abutment for the railway siding into the coal handling facilities

Hit the Buffers
The end of the sidings used by the steam excursions so that they can turn around and re-water. The turntable is in the background leading from the mainline Scarborough to York railway.

Lane near former gas works
This lane runs from Seamer Road towards the slopes of Oliver's Mount. The pasture here is known as The Donkey Field. On the left the brickwork is the remains a part of Scarborough gas works as is the wall on the right
