This is the A4039 between Bilston and Penn, looking west from near the junction with Coton Road. The large house by the Scots Pine tree used to be a care home.

Pillar Box, Goldthorn Hill / Goldthorn road.
This pillar box is a rare example of an 'Anonymous' letter box http://www.localhistory.scit.wlv.ac.uk/listed/localist/pillarbox.htm and has no royal cypher. It probably dates from between 1879 and 1887.

A4039, Bilston to Penn. This is at the top of the hill. The premises on the embankment was a care home, but has had a lot of renovation done recently and I am unsure of its present status.

Goldthorn Hill approaching Penn, Wolverhampton
A4039, Bilston to Penn, Wolverhampton.
This is at the top of the hill. The white building on the right used to be a care home but I am unsure of its current status. Pedestrian lights ahead are before the junction with Upper Villiers Street. Traffic congestion occurs every weekday between Dudley Road (behind the camera) and here. Avoid between 08:00-9:00 and 15:00-18:00.
