Derelict site on Goldthorn Hill in Wolverhampton
This has been an eyesore on Goldthorn Hill for many years. Now the boarding is disintegrating and collapsing, and an infestation of Japanese Knotweed is encroaching towards the road. https://www.expressandstar.com/news/local-hubs/wolverhampton/2018/03/21/eyesore-site-for-sale-after-years-of-neglect/ In 2011: Image] update September 2018: The site has been totally cleared of all vegetation in preparation for redevelopment.

Derelict site on Goldthorn Hill, Wolverhampton
There used to be a house here, which became derelict, and was demolished by order of the council. Planning for some new housing was refused, and since then the site has become overgrown, and now an infestation of Japanese Knotweed is spreading towards the road. https://www.expressandstar.com/news/local-hubs/wolverhampton/2018/03/21/eyesore-site-for-sale-after-years-of-neglect/ In 2011: Image] In 2011: Image] In 2010: Image] In 2007: Image] update September 2018: The site has been totally cleared of all vegetation in preparation for redevelopment.

Derelict House, Goldthorn Hill, Wolverhampton
93 Goldthorn Hill. Derelict for many years....it used to be almost obscured by undergrowth and trees, since cleared. After a body was found inside, a notice outside read something like "Keep out, the last person entering died". In 2005 plans for three four bedroom detached houses on the site were debated, and opposed, and nothing seems to have happened since. The newish door looks odd! Update: 15.8.07 - deadlock apparently. The owner has withdrawn applications because of repeated refusal for planning permission on the grounds of too many dwellings planned for the site. Update: 23.1.10 - planning permission has been granted. Demolition is due soon. Police were called because squatters moved in during November 2009 http://www.expressandstar.com/2009/11/20/city-eyesore-cottage-home-to-squatters/. There was certainly smoke coming from the chimney this afternoon. Gone, 22 June 2011!! 93 Goldthorn Hill. In November 2009 police were called because squatters had been seen. Apparently curtains were placed in some windows. Now the windows have gone. http://www.expressandstar.com/2009/11/20/city-eyesore-cottage-home-to-squatters/ Planning permission for demolition and redevelopment of the site has been granted. Five minutes after I took this picture, smoke appeared rising from the central chimney http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1674610 . May 2007: Image] Gone, 22 June 2011!! Image]

Demolished house on Goldthorn Hill, Wolverhampton
On Wednesday 22 June, 93 Goldthorn Hill was finally demolished. After many years of lies and procrastination the owner of the site was told, "demolish before June 29 or the council will do it and you will get the bill". http://www.expressandstar.com/news/2011/06/23/historic-cottage-is-pulled-down/ Image] Image] Image] Image] Image] Image]

Derelict House, Goldthorn Hill, Wolverhampton
93, Goldthorn Hill, Wolverhampton. The house has been unoccupied since April 2003. Whether vandalism and some builder looting, or the start of demolition has taken place I know not, but this building has deteriorated rapidly in recent months.
