This has been an eyesore on Goldthorn Hill for many years. There used to be a house here, which became derelict, and was demolished by order of the council. 93 Goldthorn Hill. Derelict for many years....it used to be almost obscured by undergrowth and trees, since cleared. After a body was found inside, a notice outside read something like "Keep out, the last person entering died". In 2005 plans for three four bedroom detached houses on the site were debated, and opposed, and nothing seems to have happened since. The newish door looks odd! Update: 15.8.07 - deadlock apparently. The owner has withdrawn applications because of repeated refusal for planning permission on the grounds of too many dwellings planned for the site. Update: 23.1.10 - planning permission has been granted. Demolition is due soon. On Wednesday 22 June, 93 Goldthorn Hill was finally demolished. Whether vandalism and some builder looting, or the start of demolition has taken place I know not, but this building has deteriorated rapidly in recent months.
