Derelict site in Blakenhall, Wolverhampton
This eyesore in Haggar Street is the entrance to a small area behind the houses which may have been garages, probably abandoned then used as a dumping ground.

Blakenhall, demolition site
The last of several blocks on Park Street South to be demolished. Others were able to be demolished with explosives; this block is too close to a major water main, and has to be taken down mechanically.

Houses in Blakenhall, Wolverhampton
This shows the back of some late Victorian terraced houses in Haggar Street seen across an area of well kept grass which has replaced houses already demolished. Another area between the backs of the houses to the right is derelict, so I hope when that is redeveloped, the open area remains.

Housing in Park Street South, Blakenhall, Wolverhampton
This scene is likely to change radically within very few weeks. The terraced late Victorian housing, and the late twentieth century housing on the right will still be here. The 1960s tower block, Phoenix Rise, about 250 metres away, will not. Already the nearer third of the block has been demolished, bit by bit over the last three months. The rest should disappear more rapidly when the current frozen spell of weather has passed.
