Private Housing - Ranelagh Road
Ranelagh Terrace was built in 1879 in the newly developing Blakenhall area between the Penn Road and Dudley Road. The archway provided an access to the 'Why Knott' Inn which probably fronted onto the Dudley Road.

New houses in Blakenhall Gardens, Wolverhampton
This is a multicultural area of Wolverhampton which has been undergoing very extensive regeneration for several years. The Blakenhall Gardens housing development is now well under way. The nearest semi-detached house is No 18. I don't think the numbering agrees with the plot numbering on the developer's published site map.

(http://www.localhistory.scit.wlv.ac.uk/history/chronology/1960to1999.htm) In 2005, the area is being redeveloped. In the photo you can see one of the area's Sikh pubs, the Apna Punjab.
