Midland Metro tram no. 09 approaching The Royal tram stop, Bilston Road, Wolverhampton
This first generation Midland Metro tram dates from 1998/99 and was made by Ansaldo in Italy. They were renowned for their spaghetti like electrical wiring and no doubt the operator was happy to see them all withdrawn and replaced by the current fleet made by CAF. For a short period some of the Ansaldo trams, including this one, were painted in a magenta and silver livery. The tram is seen passing the junction with Jenner Street on its approach to The Royal tram stop.
