Phone and post boxes at Chesterton, Shropshire

All is not how it seems, however. Since then, the telephone box has been disconnected, taken away, and following local protest, brought back. The box, black wall thermometer, and wooden bench seat and water bowl for dogs are looked after by a local lady.
Update 22.9.09 Apparently BT are now demanding £300 a year from villagers to leave the phone connected in the kiosk!

Chesterton House, Shropshire
A considerably extended dwelling; just observe the brickwork! Looking at the three gables on the end of the building, the house originally was the central section only, from the late 18th century. The southern section was built in 1905, and the end nearest the camera in 1909. The section in the lane to the right looks very recent.
