Sandstone gorge north of the Winscote Hills
A deep, narrow gorge in the local red sandstone; one of the tracks on the Apley Park estate runs through this gorge. Here a number of competitors in a 21km cross country race are plodding upwards.

OS benchmark - Apley estate, gatepost
A well-preserved OS cutmark on a stone gatepost on the more-or-less disused track into Apley Estate from the A442. Originally levelled at 33.879m above Ordnance Datum Newlyn.

Bridge over a sandstone gorge
The bridge carries little more than a farm track now, but the construction rather suggests the track in Apley Estate was more important at one time. A narrow track, not technically a right of way, runs down the gorge from the farm at Newton towards Winscote on the estate.
