Council/Private Housing - Greenwood Avenue
Wolverhampton Council purchased land for the Oxley Estate around 1920 erecting around 50 houses a year between 1921 and 1924. The houses were sold in the mid 1920s as tenancies became vacant. A similar approach was used for properties in Gibbons Road Image

Rear of former offices at the Goodyear site
The former Goodyear European HQ buildings were occupied by Promise Finance until the firm passed into receivership in 2008. The building will be demolished to make way for a Hungry Horse pub and restaurant. Following recent changes in government legislation the developer's Greene King will not be required to provide £25000 for public art on the site. It was said that this would render the scheme non viable.

The front entrance to the new pub will lead out onto the footpath. I hope someone is planning to raise the parapet height on the subway.
