Former Aldridge Airport
From the bottom of the field this looks quite flat. The airfield operated from 1935 to 1958. From a 1945 photo this appears to be the alignment of the main grass runway with the airport buildings and Helliwell factory at the top of the slope.

Beacon Way
The Beacon Way is a 25 mile footpath between Sandwell Valley, West Bromwich to Gentleshaw on Cannock Chase by way of Barr Beacon. The path is obstructed here by stockpiles of gravel in a lay-by.
