Disused public houses in Little Bloxwich
The building on the right is an old canal tavern next to Teece's Bridge on the Wyrley and Essington Canal. The more modern Bridgewater has been closed for a long time, the signs show this was a Mitchells and Butler's house. This is probably a good site for new housing.

Emblem on Little Bloxwich Bridge
I was a little curious about this emblem. At the top this appears to show the Warwickshire 'Bear and Ragged Staff' and at the bottom the Staffordshire 'Knot'. I would have thought that this bridge Imageover the canal is well within Staffordshire. http://www.wolverhamptonuk.co.uk/historydetail.php?id=21462&f=Wolverhampton gives the following explanation 'In 1338 Sir Thomas le Rous sold his share of the manor of Walshale to Sir Ralph Bassett. His son married Joanna, daughter of Thomas Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick. He died childless and his manor passed to the Warwick family, whose emblem - the Bear and Ragged Staff - was adopted by Walsall Borough as its Coat of Arms.'
