Wisemore House, Walsall
Once the home of John Brewer, the former mayor of Walsall in the late 19th century, this building appears to be in a state of significant dereliction and decay. It was built around 1830, although some alterations were made in the 20th century, and it attracted a Grade II listing https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101257885-wisemore-house-blakenall-ward & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1257885 in 1997, at which time it was presumably in a better state. The listing mentions intact wooden panelling, plasterwork, original joinery and so on in the interior; one suspects given the absence of glass in many of the windows, a lot of that detail has now gone for a burton.

The Pretty Bricks (1), 5 John Street, Walsall
A nice friendly traditional public house in a back street of Walsall. It has had the good fortune to now be run by Black Country Ales, a micro-brewery, which has a small chain of pubs, mainly in the area known as the Black Country. The pub has also been known as the New Inn and the Tap & Spile. See the photograph by Geoff Pick dating from April 2007 Image Image

The Pretty Bricks (2) - sign, 5 John Street, Walsall
This public house is usually known as The Pretty Bricks because of the appearance of some of the bricks used in its construction. Its alternative name is the New Inn, but it has also in recent years been known as The Tap & Spile. Image

The Pretty Bricks, Walsall
Storm Ciara, reputedly the worst for seven years, was in full swing sending gusts of wind and rain squalls down the street but at least this pub offered a dry and welcoming refuge. It dates from 1845 and is more properly known as the New Inn but takes its popular name from the glazed bricks around the front ground floor windows. It is now part of the Black Country Ales portfolio.
