Jane Lane School, Bentley
The school is named after Jane Lane the sister of Colonel John Lane then owner of Bentley Hall. Jane assisted with the escape of King Charles II after his defeat at the Battle of Worcester in September 1651. The king accompanied Jane to Bristol disguised as her servant. The Monarch's Way passes in front of the school on its way to the site of Bentley Hall.
