Coral, 47 St. John's Road, Cannock, Staffs
Local branch of the large national chain of bookmakers (licensed betting shops). The law prohibits betting shops from operating in pubs but doesn't stop them from opening next door, as this one has done, which is quite legal.

Crystal Fountain (1), 35 St. John's Road, Cannock, Staffs
This public house is in St. John's Road, near its junction with Avon Road (the A4601). The public house was built in 1937 for the brewers Mitchells & Butlers by Linfords of Cannock. The main material used is Cannock brown brick. Its Neo-Georgian style and unusual interior features, most of which survive, led to its Grade II listing in November 1998. After a period of closure, the pub re-opened in 2012 as one of the small number of pubs operated by the micro-brewery Black Country Ales.

Crystal Fountain (2) - sign, 35 St. John's Road, Cannock, Staffs
The sign is at one end of the small car parking area at the front of the pub. The style of the sign is typical of pubs run by Black Country Ales. Originally the pub was built for Mitchells & Butlers in 1937.

Crystal Fountain (3) - lantern, 35 St. John's Road, Cannock, Staffs
This lantern is above the front door near the sign on a post in the car park at the front. A similar lantern is above the door at the other end of the building. These are probably original fittings although the glass carrying the two windmills logo of Black Country Ales is not.

Asda store
Uninspiring shed imposed on the residents of Cannock by a major retailer. I would like to be able to say that the other sides look better than this!
