The Springhead Tavern (1), 83 Walsall Road, Darlaston
This pub was closed and for sale, but in 2009 it was bought by local micro-brewery Black Country Ales and re-opened. Their policy is to stock a wide range of real ales from various small breweries, and the pub has a good selection. Under its previous ownership the pub, for a short period, was promoted as a gay venue, but this would no longer appear to be the case, as it seems to have reverted to a typical pub serving mainly locals, albeit with a wide range of beers. Update March 2020: due to declining business the pub closed permanently about 2015/16. Plans were submitted for conversion into flats. Image Image
