Since 2009 the pub has been owned by Black Country Ales and the sign is typical of those used on their chain of pubs. Update March 2020: The pub permanently closed some years ago.

The Springhead Tavern (1), 83 Walsall Road, Darlaston
This pub was closed and for sale, but in 2009 it was bought by local micro-brewery Black Country Ales and re-opened. Their policy is to stock a wide range of real ales from various small breweries, and the pub has a good selection. Under its previous ownership the pub, for a short period, was promoted as a gay venue, but this would no longer appear to be the case, as it seems to have reverted to a typical pub serving mainly locals, albeit with a wide range of beers. Update March 2020: due to declining business the pub closed permanently about 2015/16. Plans were submitted for conversion into flats.
