Parish Church of St James the Great - Wednesbury
A large Anglican High church on the southern side of Wednesbury. The foundation stone was laid on 26th May 1847, and by 31st May 1848, barely one year later, the new church had been completed at a cost of just less than £3500. It's built in Peldon Stone, quarried locally at Meldon Fields, although has been extended from its original form.

St James' Church Halls
Victorian buildings connected to the adjacent parish church of St James Image The Hall was built in 1846, costing £1126 (& 19 shillings), and housed a school for up to 250 local children, a Sunday School, and a library. The school operated until the early 1960s, since when the buildings have been used by the Probation Service, community groups and for small business premises.
