Great Malvern - Ashchurch train at Upton-on-Severn
View NW, towards Great Malvern: ex-Midland branch, closed 5/12/52 Upton - Malvern, to Ashchurch 14/8/61. However, freight continued from Ripple until 1/6/63, from Tewkesbury until 2/11/64; Ashchurch - Tewkesbury until 1/5/68. The locomotive, working back tender-first, is ex-Midland Johnson/Deeley 5'3" 3F 0-6-0 No. 43645, which worked on the line for many years and survived at Gloucester until 11/62.

Upton-on-Severn railway station (site), Worcestershire
Opened in 1864 by the Midland Railway on the line from Ashchurch to Malvern, this station closed in 1961 and was demolished. View south east towards Ripple and Ashchurch. The site had become a small industrial estate when this image was taken.
