The Barbourne Works
The Barbourne Works was built by architect R.A. Briggs for W.E. Tucker and Co as one most advanced printing plants in 1898. It was designed by architect R.A. Briggs. Later the building was a depot for Worcester clothing manufacturers Kay & Co. Today the building has been converted into 46 apartments. Now buried in suburbia, this rather grand building was the printing works of W.E. Tucker & Co, built in 1898-99 by R.A. Briggs. Quite advanced in that underneath the polite neo-Georgian exterior is a reinforced concrete frame. Grade II listed. Now flats.
