Old Milestone by the A443, Grimley parish
Metal plate attached to stone post by the A443, in parish of GRIMLEY (MALVERN HILLS District), opposite drive to park, back of a wide verge by hedge, on East side of road. Worcester Cross iron plate, erected by the Worcester turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- To Worcester Cross 4 Miles Milestone Society National ID: WO_WOGW04.

Parkland below Thorngrove
The house just visible on the rising ground to the right was built in the late 18th century and is Grade II* listed. From 1810 to 1814 this was the home of Lucien Bonaparte, Napoleon Bonaparte's younger brother. Later it was also the home of explorer Sir Samuel White Baker, his father Samuel Baker Sr. owned Thorngrove, he was a sugar merchant, banker and ship owner.
