One of several fields near the end of Hayslan Road. This open space is crossed by several paths and, until recently, was a meadow enjoyed by the local population. It has been designated as possible land for housing development and given the designation MHMT15 (Malvern Hills district council - Malvern Town 15).

Frogs in our pond - 2
I counted around fifty in our relatively small pond, with the first spawn appearing in the foreground of this group. Some pay-back for the effort it took us to dig it out three years ago. I told them to smile for the picture, but I think the look is more of determination to carry on with the job at hand. Image

Fox in our garden
This fox was a regular afternoon visitor for a few months, undeterred by our felling the conifer patch. It even came round with its partner and two cubs a few times. Eventually it got mange (much to the concern of local dog owners) and we think the whole fox family died.

Frogs in our pond - 1
The mating season is here and for a whole week our small pond has been a frenzy of activity and much croaking. Following the severe 2009-10 winter and stories that it had devastated the frog population, this is a welcome sight. Image
