West Mercia Police Information

West Mercia is the fourth largest geographic police area in England and Wales. The force area is divided into five territorial policing areas, which match the boundaries of our local authorities.

While West Mercia is predominantly rural, it also contains some densely populated urban areas and many market towns. To ensure we strike the right balance between addressing national and local policing priorities, the force focuses its activities on three priority areas:

  • Serving
  • Protecting the public
  • Making the difference

Neighbourhood Officer Details

+
Tracey Baker (Police Community Support Officer)

Tracey began working for West Mercia Police as a PCSO in April, 2007. She has previously worked as a Health Care assistant in a Maternity Unit and also in an Acute Mental Health Hospital.

Tracey was first stationed at Upton Police Station then moved to Malvern where I have worked within all the SNT and currently work as part of the Pickersleigh Team.

+
Talia Heaton (Police Constable)

I joined West Mercia in 2007 as a Police Community Support Officer based at Malvern Police Station.  In 2012 I was successfully recruited as a Police Officer and worked in Evesham.  However, I have always regarded Local Policing as a priority in the Policing Community.  So returning to my roots I have recently transferred back to Malvern as Safer Neighbourhood Officer for Pickersleigh. My time here as a PCSO stands me in good stead with the community as during that period I established a good rapport with local residents and hope to be able to bring my other experiences to the role.

+
Kerry-Ann Plant (Police Community Support Officer)

Kerry-Ann joined West Mercia Police as a PCSO in December 2014. She is currently employed as part of the Gorse Hill and Rainbow Hill Safer Neighbourhood team. Previously she was a dog groomer and served 11 years in the RAF Police.

+
Simon Hallam (Sergeant)

I began my career with West Mercia Police in 1998 and have been involved in frontline policing ever since. Having worked within the response role initially as a PC within the Malvern area, I was promoted to Sergeant during this posting. I have subsequently worked as a Custody Sergeant within the busy cell block at Worcester Police Station and on completion of this posting I spent two years working within the South Worcestershire Operational Response Unit having responsibility for firearm response and serious road traffic collision matters.

I moved to the arena of Safer Neighbourhood Policing at Warndon, Worcester in June 2015 following a five year spell on patrol duties within Evesham. Having spent almost three years in post having responsibilities for some of the challenging areas of higher need within East Worcester I have now moved back to where I began my career. I look forward to tackling the new challenges of rural policing within the Malvern Hills District.
