Shire Hall, Foregate Street, Worcester
By Charles Day, 1834-38. "Impeccably Grecian, in the Smirke taste". It can be compared with Smirke's own equivalent not far away at Hereford Image Grade II* listed. The marble figure in front is the inescapable Queen Victoria, carved by Thomas Brock, 1857. Grade II listed. The building, much extended behind, is now, I think, used as the Crown Court.
