Ardsley Mills, East Ardsley
Steam powered worsted spinning mill built in 1912 by Thomas Ambler and Sons. This very distinctive mill was built with a reinforced concrete frame on the Hennebique system with infill by large windows and red brick. The engine house still survives along with the truncated chimney. The weather has degraded the image as it was raining and dull.
As far as I can see this important building has no statutory protection. It is currently owned by Country Baskets.

Amblers Mill, East Ardsley.
The former premises of Thomas Ambler & Sons in Bradford Road, part of Ardsley Mills. Ambler's were worsted spinners founded in Bradford in 1858. The Mill was built here because of the close proximity to a coal supply and a good labour force of women living in the area. This picture was taken from Westerton Rd and only shows the mill end on. Now some kind of imported dried flower retail outlet.
