Charlotte's Ice Cream Parlour, Whitley Lower
I must not have been to this village for a long time, because I had not encountered this popular family destination before, although an earlier photo on this site Image shows it has been here at least 9 years. Although ice cream is their main product, it was for a pot of tea that we called in during a winter walk.

A well-kept footpath : mowed grass and a seat to enjoy the view. The Dewsbury boundary sign is visible at the junction of the path with the road to Whitley.

Bus stop, Whitley Road, Whitley Lower
The Arriva bus is calling to pick up passengers for Wakefield (although the shortest road route to Wakefield is in the other direction, so the bus must take a roundabout route). The location is also on the boundary between Huddersfield and Dewsbury as marked by the "Welcome to Dewsbury" sign, although both towns are now within the Kirklees unitary authority.
