A question of scale
How big is this roof interior ? How old is it ? The answer is that it's just a few feet in each dimension and about ten years old. It is the ceiling of the Great Hall from the Harry Potter films, but this magnificent hammer-beam construction is a scale model used in the filming as the Great Hall itself is a roofless set. Housed in the studios at Leavesden near Watford where the films were made this is just one of thousands of exhibits that can be seen on the Studio Tour. If any of your family are into the Harry Potter films - or you are just interested in the craft of film-making, then you will find this tour fascinating - but at a price.
