I am Sergeant 2205 Adam Johnson and have been a police officer since 2007. I have spent all of my time on the front line working in a variety of different departments and geographical areas within the County including Response, Roads Policing, Custody & Safer Neighbourhoods. Three Rivers has police stations at Rickmansworth, South Oxhey and Abbots Langley and works closely across a diverse and vibrant community. Our geography consists of a mix of rural and urban areas, and we work closely with Three Rivers District Council.

We enjoy policing a generally supportive community here in Three Rivers and maintaining public trust and confidence is very important to me. To do this we promote high standards to deliver our policing response and work collaboratively with partners to help keep people safe.

I have worked for Herts Police for 19 years, I began my career as one of the first PCSO's to be sent to Three Rivers starting out at South Oxhey in 2004, then in 2007 I joined as a Police Constable, since this time I have worked in South Oxhey, Rickmansworth and now Abbots Langley SNT's.
I'm currently the Three Rivers Dangerous Dog SPOC and have a lead role in re-launching the Abbots Langley DOG WATCH SCHEME, this is something I enjoy very much.
I enjoy working with partner agencies with a problem solving approach and strive to make Abbots Langley a safe and pleasurable place to live, work and visit.

Anti Social Behaviour (ASB)
We continue to receive reports from the local community relating to vehicles speeding at this location. Due to the vast number of reports we receive this is a priority for us to tackle to ensure that we reduce vehicle related crime (speeding) at this location along with building confidence in the police service.

Response (25 Feb 2023)

We have continued to conduct pro-active speed enforcement based on locations highlighted to us by members of the local community. One of the roads was Woodside Road where the vast and significant majority were abiding by the speed limit. A driver of a van was reported for driving without due care and attention by officers. Another of the roads was Gallows Hill Lane whereby two drivers were found to be driving in excess of the speed limit and dealt with accordingly. We will continue to target our speed enforcement accordingly based on concerns raised by local residents.

We have seen an increase in anti-social behaviour involving young people in the area since the summer holidays.

We have worked address this issue with additional patrols, providing a visible presence in the area to deter those involved and also to deal with any issues as they arise.

Tackling violence against women and girls remains a priority for the Abbots Langley Neighbourhood Policing Team, as well as for Hertfordshire Constabulary generally. Officers have surveyed residents locally, which has helped identify areas and locations where people feel unsafe.

Response (30 Mar 2024)

Officers have worked with partner agencies to address the issues raised where possible. They continue to patrol locations to help increase people's perception of safety.
Further reports are encouraged - members of the public who want to highlight an issue or location can email the team at [email protected]. Officers can adjust their patrol plans in order to include new areas, and work with partner agencies toto improve street lighting or other measures.
Officers have also conducted Walk with a Cop events, where members of the public can show officers places that are of concern to them. Personal safety sessions have been organised to empower people and increase confidence and feelings of safety locally. Always call police if you have reason to feel unsafe, you believe a crime is happening or someone's safety is at risk.

Speed enforcement operations have been taking place and most recently this was conducted on High Street, Abbots Langley. The majority of vehicles were found to be travelling between 18mph and 21mph with one vehicle recorded at 24mph which is being followed up accordingly.
