Pond at Clincton Wood Local Nature Reserve
Fishing pond at Clincton Wood Local Nature Reserve. Clincton Anglers Association was first formed in July 1960 as a way of preserving the 32 acre site from being constantly targeted by vandals. In the mid 1970's, the land, ponds and small wood, was sold off to a developer for housing. The Committee of the club started a petition to stop the land being built on, and successfully obtained a tree preservation order to protect the mature oak woodland, some trees being 150 years old. In about 2002, the land and woodland was granted an SSSI status, and is now a protected local nature reserve.

Ditchfield Place, Hough Green
Ditchfield Place, Hough Green which runs parallel to Ditchfield Road. New houses have been built to the right where once stood an industrial estate including the Golden Wonder crisp factory. Golden Wonder closed its crisp factory in 1999 with the loss of 540 jobs. The company blamed the move on a change in consumer tastes, and said it was shifting production to plants in Scunthorpe and Corby.
