Tannery Lane
There was formerly a large tannery on the lane. This closed in 1959 but industrial activity continued on the site until 1999. The area has now been completely built over with new houses.

Junction along Widnes Road (A562) with Cuerdley Road (now blocked off) and Tannery Lane. I seem to remember the Tannery down Tannery Lane... apparently used to be a good supply of maggots for fishing.

St Paul's, Penketh
A modular (pre-fabricated) church by the firm of Vic Hallam, 1971. It replaced an earlier church of 1889. The Vic Hallam company produced prefabricated buildings for over 60 years until 1995.
