Warrington (Dallam) Locomotive Depot
View southward, the BR (LMR) West Coast Main Line, north of Bank Quay station being to the left. This Depot mainly dealt with motive power for the busy local and main-line freight traffic in the area. It was in the Liverpool District of the LMS and BR (LMR), coded 8B. The allocation would have been somewhat less but of similar composition in 1965 than in 1954, when it was 55, comprising:- 10 4-6-0s, 8 2-8-0s, 5 0-8-0s, 12 0-6-0s, 2 2-6-4Ts, 5 2-6-2Ts, 3 2-4-2Ts and 10 0-6-0Ts. Prominent in the photograph are LMS Class 4F 0-6-0 No. 44522 and Standard Class 9F 2-10-0 No. 92055. The Depot was late to be closed - 2/10/67.
