There was an issue with drug dealing and use in the Wellfield Street area. This was occurring at all hours of the day and night.

Response (1 Nov 2025)

Intelligence was gathered from the community which helped identify a particular address and individual who was believed to be involved in this drug activity. A warrant was obtained from the court and 2 addresses on Wellfield Street were searched by police as a result of this warrant. Drugs and other items linked to criminal activity were seized from the addresses and 3 people were arrested. They are currently released under investigation whilst the Central Beat Team progress the investigation.
Without intelligence from the community, we would be unable to tackle illegal drug supply such as this so we would urge anyone with information about illegal activity in your community to contact us directly, via Crimestoppers or by completing a residents voice survey.
