Notice that the road dips slightly as it passes under the bridge. This suggests that the road may have been lowered slightly, to increase the clearance for vehicles passing beneath the bridge.

Fire broke out at one of the shops in August 2011. Damage is clearly visible in this image, taken 7 weeks later. The fire, which started at night, was being treated as arson. Two people have been arrested.
