St Peter's Church, Hale

Building Maintenance
Nationwide Specialist Services, Ashley Road, Hale.
Seemingly, the building was originally an Industrial School, known as 'St Baldreds', which housed female (child) offenders to be reformed and trained as domestic servants. (For detailed information about the 19th Century Industrial and Reform schools, see http://www.childrenshomes.org.uk/IS/.)
Latterly, it was the Hale Conservative Club until the property was sold for business development in 2008 at a price of £1M.

Solicitors' offices, Hale, Trafford
Originally the farmhouse of Ollerbarrow Farm (cf. road of the same name nearby) which extended as far as what is now Hale Road. The name may derive from 'alder + bank'- a reminder of the marshy ground hereabouts and the plants it would have supported. More recently, the house has been a Police Station and solicitors' offices..
