Cement wagons through Warrington
Warrington Bank Quay is a station dominated by the adjacent chemical works, but these wagons are for Hanson cement - probably empties returning to their site near Clitheroe.

LMS 0-6-0T shunting at Warrington Bank Quay, 1963
View SW across the WCML towards Crewe etc. at south end of Bank Quay Station, with Soap Works behind the train. The locomotive is LMS Fowler 3F 0-6-0T No. 47531 (built 1928, withdrawn 2/67). Note the large grain-wagons.

Approaching Warrington Bank Quay station
A "Pendolino" train approaching Warrington Bank Quay railway station. The platform on the opposite side of the tracks is a temporary platform extension, installed while building work is carried out at the station. The railway is electrified using overhead wires.
