Clay Pipe Cottage
Clay Pipe Cottage in Mossborough Road. Clay pipe making was an important cottage industry in Rainford in the middle of the 17th century, supplementing agriculture, however this cottage was built around the 19th century when the industry had waned due to the introduction of briar pipes.
